Fjellro Blues Festival was held in Easter weekend 19th-20th. April with good attendance and good atmosphere in the spring sun.

The small festival in Valldal in Møre og Romsdal was held this year for the seventh time. The program included local bands and musicians from the USA, England and the Netherlands. The picture shows the Norwegian band RAM.

Both Friday and Saturday, acoustic concerts were initiated. Duo Down Home with Thom Pod (USA) & Ian Dunlop (UK) started Friday. On Saturday, Dixie Dudes, Frank van Meeteren and Marius Bos from the Netherlands, who also previously visited the festival, opened.
In the basement Friday we got to hear Hoodoo Hogs with Øyvind Vassli Hansen and Ronald Ottesen, who for the occasion were expanded with not unknown Trond Hansen on bass and Gøsta Linn on drums. RAM was last band out Friday. Arild Hoffengh-Oshaug, Ann-Christin Mork, Dan Stian Brill and Thorstein Elvestad have a solid fan base in the district, which they also start to get in Eastern Norway, where they have played a great deal lately.

It was gratifying to note that the attendance on Friday was better than in previous years.

The same bands played Saturday, now in reverse order. The jam started at 3 pm and was moved out into the backyard because of the great spring weather. Here there was a lot of people and good atmosphere, and many thought this was the best jam that has been at the festival.

The only cut in joy was the news that it is most likely the last time Eli & Mike are hosting the festival. They have decided to sell the 100-year-old hotel while still healthy, as they say. They hope that the new drivers of the hotel will continue the tradition of the festival, and say that they will help with information and to bring their experiences further.

Jam'en på lørdag ble flyttet ut i det fine påskeværet.
